Jávea (Xàbia in Valencian) is located in the north of the Costa Blanca, 100km from the city of Alicante and 100km from the city of Valencia. Both cities are connected by high-speed train (AVE) to the capital of Spain, Madrid. Both Valencia and Alicante have an airport with numerous airlines with international flights. Jávea is also connected to the Balearic Islands by sea.
A scientific study from the 1990s gave the population of Jávea the title of the best microclimate in the world, followed by Rio de Janeiro, because it has an average annual temperature of 18ºc.
